Samois part 1

The next day we decamped from the 14^th arrondissement and caught a train from Gare de Lyon out to the rather pleasant environs of the upper Seine.

While we were waiting at the station we came across the same curious phenomenon of soldiers with machine guns walking the streets. Slightly unnerving but I guess that's the point.

Guns and Toys

There we alighted at Fontainebleau to hook up with an old school chum Edo at his place in Samois just north of Fontainebleau.

Fontainebleau Station

The Edo Meister met us at the station in his trusty Peugeot wagon and took us the scenic way to Samois (apparently the French defeated the English at Samois a few centuries ago, that's the claim to fame so we're told).
