How cool is it zoom along at top speed (I think it was only 23 knots but felt VERY fast) past beautiful Italian towns and even where they filmed part of James Bonds' Casino Royale?

Not only that, all the kids got to drive the boat too!
I don't think I've seen a bigger smile on Ben's face than when he had it up to full throttle, standing on tippie toes because he couldn't see where he was going. (OK, that was slightly unnerving.)
Finley had a go to and managed to steer it around one of the islands. Fine work for the little man.
We stopped in the middle of the lake and Simon insisted on diving into the middle of Lake Como in his undies. Something even I was not prepared to do. Must have been his time in the army, toughened him up a whack load more than me.
So after several glorious days on the lake in our apartment, it was time to take on the challenge of the Italian autostradas once more and head to Verona. This time I was ready.
Still a tough life!
