We left Hamburg with a skip and a jump (though without our primary behavioural management weapon as Legoland has been the carrot the whole trip) and jumped on the train.
We made it into another country (our 9th) and got off in Velje and once again familiarised ourselves with the incomprehensible language that is Danish. Friendly place and most people speak fabulous English.
We needed to catch a bus to Legoland (seems a bit strange when they've built a whole airport for Legoland but no train!) and we had planned a quiet afternoon in the hotel and then hit Legoland the next day but that sneaky bus driver took us past Legoland on the way to the hotel and let's face it once we did that there was no way we were going to sit in a hotel room with Legoland outside the window.
So we dropped off the bags and headed straight back to Mecca, ooops, sorry Legoland. Let''s face it, it really is a kind of pilgrimage. We encountered lots of families on the bus bouncing up and done barely able to control their excitement.
I had been to this very same place in when I was 7 and I can't believe how excited I was to return and take my own kids there. It had certainly grown since I'd been there, but some sections were exactly the same like the Lego models of Copenhagen.
The original legoland stuff. Naff but ace!
It roolly is cool
There were new sections like the Space Shuttle bit and the Star Wars models. Ben, Finley and Maja were suitably enthralled by these sections. In fact, we almost lost Finley a few times as he was so captivated he wandered off and we didn't know where he was.
Who was Legoland for again?
